Making a Life

Are you making a living or making a life? Do you live to work, or work to live? I love my job. Some of my pastors friends will agree, they love their jobs too. One of them said "he has the best job in the world". I agree. A job can be a career, a vocation, a calling, a project or numerous other things of the like. We spend a considerable amount of time working to earn, working to eat, working to live. Anyone who says they would do their job for free should consider then asking their boss for a reduction of salary instead of an increase ;0)
Some people I know are miserable in their current job. They loathe getting up for work in the morning and then when home at night, carry the fog of the day with them.
I've experienced lots of jobs.
Furniture delivery. Coach. Construction. Admissions office staff. I've worked indoors and out. The best jobs are a synergy of your passions and skills. Our gifts are not always factored in with our jobs. Just because we know how to build a website or a database does not mean we should do that for a living. Knowledge of how to do something is not always a gift. Sometimes it's just learned. A gift in the church might be teaching, preaching, leading and several others.
So, use your gifts and share your gifts. Do not continue down the path you are on if your path leads you in the wrong direction.
Go in peace and go with God.
