It says "51When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem."
Other translations say: he resolutely set out or steadfastly set out.
For me, it's a matter of direction and destination. Jesus has to know that death and suffering await him in Jerusalem. His disciples knew something was up, because there had been threats made against him and the religious leaders were looking for ways to trap him or catch him.
As I think about Jesus walking toward Jerusalem my heart sinks. How many of us are willing to walk into a storm to save others?
We say we would, but until the event presents itself, it's just words.
So I encourage you this week to set your face in the direction of that which is holy and just. Take a step toward God every day. Go in peace and go with God.
