Excuses For Not Reading Your Bible

Yesterday I mentioned a few excuses I hear for not reading your Bible. Here are the most recent ones and my response.
1. I'm too busy
2. I don't have time because of work.
3. I don't own a Bible
4. The Bible doesn't make sense
5. I'm good enough
6. I don't like to read

Ok, first of all- being too busy is never an excuse- we make time for the things that are important. Reading the Word of God is important.
Two, you are probably working too much, we all probably work too much so stop working too much ;0)
Three- you do not own a Bible. Ok, you can purchase a Bible for $5 at the local Christian bookstore- if you can spend $5 at Taco Bell, McDonald's etc..don't you think you can buy the Bible for $5.
Four- Yes, the Bible is not the easiest book in the world to read but is anything valuable or worthwhile ever easy?
Five- Simply, no you are not.
Six- Alright, this is the most difficult excuse for me to deal with because at one point and time I was not a reader. So, let me tell you a secret....the Bible is available on ......CD. Yes, that is correct, you can download mp3's or purchase a cd version. Wow, and I know several people who don't like to read that purchased the audio version and they listened to THE WHOLE BIBLE.

Finally, the Bible is fully of history, story, teachings, letters, prophecy and lots of other stuff that is deeply beneficial to Christians. Spend a few moments every day in the Bible and I promise that your life will never be the same. Some changes are good in life, especially making "every effort" to draw near to God.
Go in peace and go with God.
